Coral Invasion

Introduction

Coral Invasion is a base defense game where the player plays as a reconstructed cyborg dolphin from a war torn era of the Soviet Union in an effort to protect and restore coral reefs, as well as the environment they reside in, from those seeking to destroy it.

Gameplay

The player must use quick reactive skills and strategy to utilize their main tool, a sound wave projectile which alone does small damage over an area, but when overlapped with another sound wave has its amplitude greatly increased, significantly increasing the damage as well. This weapon allows the player to defeat enemies, as well as explore the area for resources to return to the reef and restore it. Return the reef to its greater glory before damage and pollution can ruin it.

My Work

Coral Invasion is a game I worked on with a small team. I was the the only developer on the project initially, as well as the main game designer. During the second iteration, we added a couple developers so my development focus shifted towards adding new gameplay elements (such as adding the projectile beacons and the resource collection aspect). Otherwise I also put a lot more into game design, as I helped with level design and construction and helped further the mechanics of the game.
